Flu Season [Sadik] Empty
PostSubject: Flu Season [Sadik]   Flu Season [Sadik] EmptyMon Mar 05, 2012 10:59 pm

Sakura had been feeling a little (...what was that English word?) peaky, all week. Several people had commented that she looked pale and she seemed a little listless. She couldn't concentrate as well, she was performing a little more poorly in her classes and at work, and had been forgetting some of her English. However, Sakura was a stubborn young woman, who didn't want to let a little cold affect her. A little bit more make up in the mornings covered up the physical symptoms of her cold, then she tried hard not to let it be seen in her movements.

This morning, she had woken up feeling particularily poor and clammy, her whole body shivering and cold despite the fact that it was relatively warm outside. Her stomach churned so she decided, for today, that breakfast was not neccesary. She needed to get to class; there was an important lecture that morning by a guest historian but she found that her fingers would not work well enough to do up the buttons of her blouse, her joints aching, her fingers shaking and her brain feeling a little sluggish. Instead she opted for a tshirt, something she would never normally be seen at school in, it was not very professional and she wanted to look grown up.

Eventually, she made it out of the door, maybe a little later than usual, a handkerchief balled in her hand, sniffling, her eyes watering. She barely even made it in to the lift, but in the end she did make it, leaning up against the side of the lift and holding on to her stomach, as if that would make the feelings go away.

As she got out, she registered a door opening on her left, which was Adnan-san's door. He was one of her friends in the building, one of the fewple who was stubborn enough to get through her shyness and somewhat antisocial nature. "Good morning, Mr Adnan," She said politely, her voice a little funny, her nose blocked. There was a slight ringing in her ears and the churning feeling in her stomach hand grown. "How are yo-" She suddenly had to stop, the nausea hitting her hard and she grabbed at the nearest bin, which thankfully there was, since they were in the reception hall, and threw up, though there was little there but stomach acid and water, since she hadn't eaten that morning. Perhaps it was a good thing that she had skipped breakfast.

Flu Season [Sadik] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Flu Season [Sadik]   Flu Season [Sadik] EmptySun Mar 18, 2012 2:21 am

Mornings were not Sadik's domain in the least. Perhaps it was the fact that he had to wake up so early to get himself ready for the day-- but then again, he had to do that because it took him ages to get moving. Of course, despite all the years he had been in England, he was never used to the English mornings. To him, they felt cold and dank, unwelcoming really. Not at all like in Turkey, where mornings were always greeted by the sunshine, a warm embrace, and the sweet smell of blooming flowers-- even when it wasn't the season.

So, as Sadik's alarm blared with its vicious, electronic siren, the turk found himself sighing. Weakly, and with a complaint from his throat, Sadik blindly groped for his clock, patting out the snooze button. "Five more minutes, bibi..." Sadik said, rolling over and cuddling up in his blankets. But it was too late; Sadik's mind was already registering that he had to wake up, that he had a test that he was giving because he knew his class wasn't really doing their work properly, that he was going to have to go through the awkward motions of lunch with the other Humanities teachers, and that he hadn't even gotten his breakfast ready yet. And so, though it pained him, Sadik started to wake up.

But, rather than sitting up and making his way out of bed, Sadik had to be difficult. Yes, he preferred, instead, to swing his legs over the side of his bed and let his bulk fall onto the floor, the momentum and sensation of falling usually being enough to at least snap him into consciousness. He'd stay there for a moment, complaining to himself, before finally standing and moving about his flat, whining about how cold it was. ( Of course, that could been remedied if Sadik put on socks and a shirt.)

Breakfast was a necessity, though not an issue for a man who grew up in a country where breakfast was an art and a necessity. As he walked to his smallish kitchen, Sadik's neck, knuckles, back, ankles, and knees let out a symphony of cracks and pops as his stiff body reintroduced itself to the sensation of movement. Sadik added chorus to this morning music, letting out a stressed sigh as he looked through his refrigerator. Eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, jam, honey, cheese, sausage (though, sadly, not Sucuk, that was hard to find), and of course tea-- he'd have to skip out on the soup because of the time restraint. An ace in the kitchen, or at least with his own foods, it really took no time to cook, and Sadik ate it even faster.

Then a shower, changing into work clothes, and he was good to go.

Sadik exited his flat, delighted to find that his young female friend was passing by. He couldn't help but smile when he saw her; she was a good kid, a history student-- a fact that delighted him-- and she always dressed in a way that was always respectable and fitting for her. He loved that about her. She was awfully quiet, though, a great contrast to his loud nature, so when she greeted him, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Heya, Sakura. How you doin', you should a little stuffed up." Sadik said. But the answer came to him in a way he didn't expect.

"Oh... well... shit, okay, you don't... Clearly you're a little more than under the weather." Sadik said, actually laughing a bit. "Where the hell do you think you're goin', kiddo? You're in freakin' condition to be going outside! Come on, come on, I'm takin you back to your room." And that wasn't an offer, it was an order. Sadik dropped his bags and went to Sakura's side. He knew that she had apprehensions about touching people, but she was going to have to live with it for now. Sadik wrapped an arm around the younger woman, pulling her to go back to her room.

Flu Season [Sadik] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Flu Season [Sadik]   Flu Season [Sadik] EmptyWed Mar 21, 2012 9:07 pm

She made a noise of reluctance that came out a little like a moan. Her head was a little cloudy from the illness and she was worrying that she was burning up. “No, Adnan-san, you do not have to.” She attempted to bad his arm away, even as her body leaned in to him, too tired to keep herself up. Really, it was a matter of pride rather than her adverseness to touch, which waned when she was in such a state, her body too sick to care. “I have things to do, I really do.” She said shakily.

But she found herself following him as he pulled her along, with little to no complaint. She knew she needed to rest but it would not do to miss lectures, like she was ungrateful for her education. However, common sense told her that her head was spinning, she could hardly see properly. What would she do at a lecture? The most she could possibly do was lie down on a bench, or vomit in the lecture theatre, which was a horrible thought. Perhaps it was best for her to go home. She gave up the last of her resistance and walked properly with him.

When they reached her house, she reached in to her pocket and pulled out her keys, but she was still feeling dizzy so she held them out for Sadik to take, because he would probably be more co-ordinated than her. “I am sorry, I do not mean to cause you trouble, Adnan-san.” She said, a little slower than usual. English was hard when she wasn’t thinking very well and she had to struggle to stop herself from falling back in to Japanese.

Flu Season [Sadik] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Flu Season [Sadik]   Flu Season [Sadik] EmptySat Mar 24, 2012 10:39 pm

"No, kiddo, I gotta." Was all Sadik replied with. He wasn't going to extend the matter to argument, though he was fairly certain that Sakura wouldn't fight him too much. Perhaps a few shakes of the head, a word telling him that she was perfectly fine, but she wouldn't argue like a Grecian over such a small thing. Oh how Sadik reveled in that fact, though; it was good to know that he could offer someone something-- be it assistance or otherwise-- and not have to deal with too much ceremony of questioning and argumentation. Instead, he simply had to say 'this is how it is', get a 'no no, it's quite alright', and give back a 'what did I say? I'm doin' this', and that was that.

Perhaps it was his bulk feeding into intimidation, or his infamous stubbornness, or maybe even the rapport he had struck up with Sakura, or just her dwindling state. Whatever the cause, though, Sadik would feel much better knowing that the young one, a woman no less, was safely at home to rest.

As Sadik traversed the stairs, one after the other, slowly to keep Sakura steady but persistently to meet the final goal, he began to notice a sense of complacency fall over Sakura's body. At least, that's what he was going to call it, "complacency", because she seemed to just accept what he was doing completely. No proud moves like trying to walk on her own, no stubborn signs of feigning health; yes, Sakura was sensible, which was more than could be said for Sadik. If the situation were reversed... well, it wouldn't be a situation. Sadik wouldn't dream of being babied back to his room. He was a man after all, full grown and having faced the world and lived to tell about it, and he wouldn't let anyone tell him "You have to go lay down".
So was it hypocritical for him to ask that of Sakura?
Probably.
He didn't care that much.

Finally the door came into view, six flights of stairs later, and Sadik seemed to pick up his pace. Sakura offered him the key (was her hand trembling slightly?), which he took quickly and deftly, unlocking the door within seconds and bursting into the room. What he saw was... well, nothing he didn't expect of the room of a young woman from Japan. He brought her inside, sitting her down on the nearest plush surface and looked down at her before examining the room a bit further.

"Do you wan' anythin'? Need somethin'? How 'bout some tea, huh?" offered the Turk who, pacing back and forth, seemed slightly unprepared to actually care for the young woman, but completely willing to try. He didn't know too much about how to nurse a stomach bug, but he'd try all he knew and remembered from his past.

Flu Season [Sadik] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Flu Season [Sadik]   Flu Season [Sadik] EmptyThu Apr 19, 2012 7:32 pm

“But I have to do work.” She could stay here, she would concede to that, but she should do a little bit of studying, or she would feel she had been very useless then. She was sat on the sofa and she automatically curled up, clutching her stomach, shivering and swallowing. The cushions of the sofa weren’t too comfortable, and it scratched her cheek slightly, and she stared at the floor. “Just a little bit.” She insisted, though she couldn’t even stand up, she just lay there, a little dizzy.

She wasn’t sure if she could eat. On the one hand, she liked tea and she thought it might settle her stomach but on the other hand, she didn’t know if she could even keep it down. She didn’t know if Sadik was any good at making tea, but as she moved her tongue and swallowed thickly, her mouth felt awful and fuzzy and she didn’t think she could even taste the difference between good tea and bad. “Well.... a little tea might be good, thank you.” She said, “The tea is in the top cupboard, in the black container. You need one spoonful. The tea spoon is the bamboo one next to the container...” She mumbled, hoping it didn’t sound too demanding, but it was very important that it went well.

He seemed very agitated; pacing up and down, perhaps not wanting to look after her. But still, he was, and Sadik was very kind, she thought to do these things for her. Especially because he had his own things to do. She hoped he wouldn’t be late now, and she hated that she may be inconveniencing him, and getting him in trouble, so she was very grateful that he was here, and she hoped she would be able to return the favour one day.
